Neither Bear (AWD) or HellKnight (MD5) models are animating :(

I can’t make awd or md5 model animate. I uploaded the models, placed them in the level, uploaded the md5anim file for Knight and engine found animations for awd Bear, I created the Loop conditions and still nothing is happening.

Example models are downloaded from Away tools and they seem fine from inside the Away Builder program. I can’t get what I’m doing wrong. It would be great if somebody could tell me where I’m making the mistake with the animation-code.

My model-test:

We checked it and you are right, This is a bug.
The animation is not working if the "Sub model" is not set to "0" and the "Auto Center" is not set to false.
That's why the animation of the monster in the FPS example works.
We will fix it as soon as possible and let you know.
Sorry for the inconvenience and the time you have spent to figure it out.

Thank you for fast reply, does this mean they are animating if I make changes to 'SubModel' and 'Auto center'?

Still nothing happens when I set the 'SubModel' to 0 and disable 'AutoCenter'. Polar Bear seems to disappear when I set 'SubModel' to 0 but that could be problem related to the model?

I was wondering if animations must be skeletal, can I also use vertex-animated models? MilkShape3D was able to export some of my older MDL7 models to MD2 format but model lost bones in the process and end-result was model but with vertex animation. I can make AWD format from MD2 with Away3D Builder.

Yes, but that way, your model's parts must be combined into one piece.
Here is an example of the animated Monster:

The bear's sub model can't be set to 0 because it is built from many submodels.
We will fix the bug soon and let you know.

Great, thank you so much for example and for your time.

As for the Bear, I guess it won't be that much trouble to merge the model in Away3D Builder or some other application but it's good to know that AWD format can also work even with this bug.

And another important thing - The only supported Animation in AWD file format, for now, is "Skeleton Animator".
We will add "Vertex Animator" support in the future.
You can see what type of Animator your model is using via Away Builder:

Thank you for the information, I guessed that the engine doesn’t support vertex animation but I wasn't sure. I asked because my model-export pipelines are very strange and there are some models that lose bones when exported:) But it’s just a matter of experimenting with different programs.
