With many schools opting for chromebooks because of the low price for a functioning system, and even normal people who only really browse the web, If the web editor is discontinued, a lot of people who want to get into game development cannot get a good footing into the art without a more expensive Windows system.

The basic idea is to convert the current web based editor into a sort of web app. right now, it works, but not well, being that a user on ChromeOS will be greeted by "ChomeOS cannot open this page", and then the usual menu asking if the user would like to download or run in browser. What could be done is to convert the browser to a usuable HTML5 or JavaScript app. Along side with this change, the engine is now more up to date using the most optimized and capable code available, and overall more secure, inclining a possible user to want to use the engine.

I fully understand that a project like this would be extremely challenging to do, so perhaps if the community were to work together, its very possible that this could one day be a reality: A game engine for all.

Hello,
The only way to do it is to rebuild the engine in html5.
We are planning to do this but not in the near future.

since the engine is open source, would it be possible to coordinate the community to help? even if only a small percent of the community helps, that could be more than enough to get an HTML5 equivalent rather quickly.

what im basically saying is to perhaps move the web engine up on a priority list, the increasing popularity of Chromebooks to standard PCs are requiring web apps over the usual installed software. If we get a HTML 5 web app working, then we can ensure that the engine stays relevant with today's world of computing. A web engine also enable people to try the software before using the better optimized and generally more CPU friendly install-able engine, or save themselves the storage and just use the web engine

Good news,
Google is bringing Windows app support to ChromeOS:

It might be a suitable solution.

Ok cool. Can you make it that you can import high def images to have good graphics at a cost of lower fps or something? because the graphics right now are kind of trashy (No offence)

This is good news, but at the moment it is only available for enterprise users, Small developers cannot use it without somehow proving they are a business and paying about $70, Meaning that this could unfortunately not work until it is released for public use. Not only this, it is in development, there are errors and complications that could come about when using the software. Our best solution is to somehow push the engine to other people, either through word of mouth or advertising, and then hope that other skilled developers contribute to the development of the engine.

Its the lighting engine, you can still make a game look good with these graphics you just gotta be a good map designer.

I mean look at Half-Life 2, their environments still look good today.

I mean it looks like 20 pixels like actually the graphics are worse than any mobile game WITHOUT a graphics card. I want UHD images and textures in my games not some trashy 20 pixel image off the internet.

Good news,
We are working on a Linux version of Cyberix3D, and we have already tested it on Ubuntu / ChromeOS Linux Beta.
Here is a screenshot from a working Cyberix3D app via the ChromeOS Linux:
cyberix3d_linux_chromeos.jpg

The Linux version of Cyberix3D is based on Linux Wine. We had to make some modifications to Cyberix3D so it will work with Linux Wine.
When it be ready, we will supply an installation script that you could run from Linux's terminal.
We still need to work on the auto-updates.
We will keep you updated when it is ready.

This is absolutely wonderful, I cannot wait to see where this goes. Another problem to touch on would be schools that do not permit the use of linux, so a Progressive Web App (PWA) could be built once a HTML5 or JS version of the web engine is functional.
