Is there any online conversion tools that can break a .mtl into a image file to use in the engine, or a way to directly put .mtl files into the engine to use on a model? I have searched myself and not found anything useful. I currently do not have access to more reliable tools such as blender, only browser based web applications.
Graphic designer and learning game developer.. I guess.

Hello,
MTL files are not supported in the engine.
You can use Away Builder to prepare your model with all the textures and then export it to AWD.

You can try using PreFab3D.
We didn't test it on Linux but it should work.
First, install Cyberix3D for Linux:
www.gamemaker3d.com/forum/general-discus...version-beta-testing
Then, download PreFab3D:
www.gamemaker3d.com/files/Prefab3D.zip
Extract the zip, and run Prefab3D.exe (using wine).
